A Matter of Hope is a 501c3 organization and community of Cholangiocarcinoma and Rare Cancer advocates, committed to fundraising, campaigning, and calling attention to a very fatal, often overlooked and clinically misunderstood cancer. We do this by creating fun events and contests, that bring our community together, drawing from our inspiration, Matt Sgambato.  To date, we have raised over $20,000 for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, funding research, clinical trials, and HOPE for Cholangiocarcinoma patients.

Cholangiocarcinoma, or CCA, is a rare cancer, with low survival rates due to a lack of early detection methods, little understanding of potential risk factors, and sparse clinical trials specifically aimed at treatment for the disease. We are committed to changing that and giving a voice and a presence to those battling Cholangiocarcinoma. 

The event is in honor of Matthew Sgambato, a  WARRIOR and our hero, who battled Cholangicocarcinoma for 11 months before his passing on December 24th, 2019. You can read more about Matt and the Sgambato families experience with Cholangiocarcinoma here.
